Annette Funicello (born Annette Funicello) was an American musician, actress and performer. Her most famous work is being one of Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. When she was a teen Annette began her professional career in singing and became known for her smash hits "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess.' Annette was a shy child born in Utica and was surrounded by Italian immigrants. She wanted to pursue an entertainment industry and soon took the stage and began to dance. The mid-1950s saw her gain a significant amount of recognition through her performances as a character in "Disney" sketches. Annette was able to let go of the "Disney" persona she had developed when she was a kid and took many different adult characters. Her most famous role was one of the very first actors who initiated"beach parties" and the "beach party" genre.
